University of Oregon Ford Alumni Solar Thermal Project

Project Description

Advanced Energy Systems completed a 3 collector solar water heating system for the University of Oregon’s Ford Alumni Center in 2011. The array consists of 3 Heliodyne Gobi 406 solar thermal collectors, and a 120 gallon back-up water heating tank. This solar water heating system will produce approximately 4,500 kWh in the first year of operation, and more than 153,000 kWh over the course of its lifetime, offsetting 2,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
