Kaleidoscope Pizza PV Project
Project Description
Another Medford Oregon project, the 36kW solar array on the Kaleidoscope Pizza Restaurant was installed in the late summer-fall of 2011. The owner of the restaurant is a believer in sustainability and renewable energy. This unique site offered good solar access, but a rather challenging layout for the array. A total of 149 SolarWorld 240W modules were installed using Sunmodo racking on standing seam metal roofing. Due to the roof layout, multiple smaller arrays were paired up to make a complete 36kW array, requiring a unique design that utilized 4 Sunny Boy grid tied inverters, and 29 Enphase Micro-Inverters. Advanced Energy Systems was the complete designer and installer for this project. The array will generate an estimated 40,570 kWh/yr and allow Kaleidoscope to reduce their utility bills.
