Eastern Oregon Correctional Institute Solar Water Heating Project

Project Description

Advanced Energy Systems completed a 12 collector solar water heating system for Eastern Oregon Correctional Institute (SWH) in 2012. The array consists of 12 SunEarth EC 40 solar thermal collectors, and a 140 gal. DHW-St-1 hot water storage tank hot water storage tank. This solar water heating system will produce approximately 15,000 kWh in the first year of operation, and more than 510,000 kWh over the course of its lifetime, offsetting 7,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
