Burton Saw & Supply Company

Project Description

In October of 2007 Burton Saw and Supply installed a 43 kW solar energy system.

“Burton Saw is a part of the lumber manufacturing industry which requires trees as its raw material source.  A healthy environment is critical to the growing of trees.  Our Solar Project reduces carbon emissions and the amount of water required through hydroelectric dams, significantly reducing our imprint on the environment.  Burton Saw is doing its part to help be a good steward of our natural resources.  Our Partnership with AES, Evergreen Roofing, EWEB, and Governmental Tax Agencies has produced a smooth running solar collection system which will benefit all communities, local and beyond.” – Burton Saw and Supply

The output from 208 Sharp panels pass through 1 SatCon 50k inverters to produce over 48,000 kWh per year. Over it’s lifetime this system conserves the equivalent of 1,300 tons of CO2, 3,800 Trees, or 131,300 gallons of Gasoline. The photovoltaic modules are installed on their building at 1439 W. 2nd Street, Eugene, Oregon. The system is a generation system that feeds back to the EWEB utility grid.
