Cafe’ Yumm! Solar and EV Charging Project
Project Description
Completed in the fall of 2011, the Cafe’ Yumm! project was a ground breaker on many fronts. As a multi-faceted project, this installation consisted of Rooftop Solar, Covered Parking, Awnings with Solar, and Solar Powered EV Charging Stations. Nearly 2 years in planning and preparation went into the design and final installation of Eugene’s first combination solar array and EV charging located at a commercial business. A total of 34kW of PV Modules, and 4 EV charging stations (level 1, and level 2) were installed at the Cafe’ Yumm! location near the university of Oregon campus on Broadway and Franklin Blvd.
Cafe’ Yumm! is committed to the preservation and stewardship of the environment. It is a pivotal part of their “Triple bottom line” which balances social, environmental, and economic concerns. They serve fantastic food too! Cafe’ Yumm! is an EWEB Greenpower Business Partner, participating in the Eugene Water and Electric Board Greenpower initiative, subscribing to more than 100,000-kilowatt hours of renewable power annually.
