UNIVERSITY OF OREGON WOODSHOP
In December 2008 University of Oregon, in partnership with Advanced Energy Systems, activated a 10.4 KW Solar Electric System. The system is Phase 1 in a planned 60 KW project build out. The racking system for the full build out has already been installed. The Phase 1 system utilizes (45) high efficiency SunPower 230 watt modules. The power from the modules is routed through (1) 5000 watt SMA inverter and (1) 6000 watt SMA inverter before connecting to the grid.
The Phase 1 installation has substantial environmental impacts. Over its lifetime the system will save/offset an equivalent amount of energy as 300 tons of CO2, 31,100 gallons of gasoline, or 900 trees.
