Coach Glass
In December, 2008 Coach Glass in partnership with Advanced Energy Systems activated a 32 KW Solar Electric System. The system utilizes (104) high efficiency SunPower 305 watt modules. The modules are mounted on a custom non-penetrating T-10 racking system that is held to the roof with minimalballast. The power from the modules is routed through a SatCon 30 kW Inverter before connecting to the grid. The net metering agreement with EWEB (Eugene Water and Electric Board) credits Coach Glass when production is in excess of usage. The net metering agreement with EWEB credits Coach Glass at retail prices when production is at excess of usage. EWEB provided a 25,000 dollar grant to incentivize this project.
The PV System has substantial environmental impacts. Over its lifetime the system will save/offset an equivalent amount of energy as 850 tons of CO2, 88,100 gallons of gasoline, or 2,500 trees.
